CRAIG EHRLICH

Craig Ehrlich is the former long time chairman of the GSMA, the global trade association representing more than 700 second and third generation network operators and over 180 manufacturers and suppliers.

Craig is affiliated with Bharti Airtel, the world's 5th largest telecom company, as independent non-executive director of the company. He is also chairman of Carmel Ventures Asia, a leading venture capital company.

In the Philippines, Craig is vice chairman of publicly listed ISM, and board member of publicly listed Philweb, the country's leading gaming company. He recently retired as chairman of Taiwan's largest cable television company, kbro, which was sold in December 2010. The company was primarily owned by the Carlyle Group.

Craig is also Chairman of NOVARE Technologies Ltd., an onshoring and outsourcing software development company based in Hong Kong and serving clients throughout the world.

Craig has been involved in Hong Kong's communications industry since he first settled in Hong Kong in 1987. He joined Hutchison Cablevision as managing director in October 1987 and was a founding member of the team that launched STAR TV, Asia's first satellite-delivered multi-channel television network. After four years with Hutchison Whampoa, Mr Ehrlich became the Group Operations Director at Hutchison Telecommunications and was responsible for the company's operations in 10 countries.

In 1993 he left the Hutchison group and established companies involved in the introduction of cable television and paging services. He sold these companies in September 1996 and started Hong Kong mobile operator SUNDAY Communications Ltd. in November 1996.

Craig is also a member of UCLA/Peking University Joint Research institute Advisory Committee and a founding member of Global Management Centre at the Anderson Business School UCLA.

Craig holds a B.A. degree from the University of California Los Angeles, a Masters degree from Occidental College and a postgraduate fellowship with the Coro Foundation.

He has resided in Hong Kong for 24 years.

 

MOHAN GYANI

Mohan is currently a member on the boards of Keynote Systems, Safeway, SiRF Technologies, Roamware, in addition to several private and non-profit organizations. His earlier industry assignments include a stint as President & CEO of AT&T Wireless Mobility Services, where he was responsible for matters related to Strategy, Business Development and Operations.

Prior to moving to AT&T Wireless Mobility Services, Mohan was CFO at AirTouch, where he played a key role in the $120 Billion merger of AirTouch and Vodafone. The subsequent $70 Billion joint venture with Bell Atlantic resulted in the creation of Verizon Wireless.

A respected veteran of the industry, Mohan was instrumental to the $1.6 billion initial public offering of AirTouch in 1993 and the $10.6 billion IPO of AT&T Wireless in 2000.

After earning an A.A. in Business from City College of San Francisco, Mohan completed his B.A in Business Administration and earned his MBA degree in Finance from the San Francisco State University.

 

MYLA CRESPO VILLANUEVA

Myla is the founder of Wolfpac, a pioneer in mobile applications development in the Philippines, and Meridian Telekoms, the first broadband wireless provider in the country. Meridian Telekoms, now known as SmartBro, boasts the largest broadband wireless implementation in the world to date, with over 3,000 Base stations enabled. Both companies have since been acquired by Smart Communications.

She is the founder of MDi, a leading systems integrator in the Philippines representing Cisco, 3Com, Juniper, Dell, IBM, Ironport, VMware, and EMC2. She also co-founded Microwarehouse, a Value Added Distributor for Apple, RIM BlackBerry, Samsung, Belkin, Emerson, Lacie, Cisco, Linksys, 3Com, and Philips.

In 2004, Myla was named Woman Entrepreneur of the Year in the Entrepreneur of the Year program conducted by Ernst and Young, Department of Trade and Industry, Philippine Stock Exchange, Bankers Association of the Philippines and the Philippine Securities Exchange Commission.

In addition to her role as Managing Director of NOVARE, Myla is also the Asia President for the Global Telecoms Women's Network. She was Chair of the Mobile Innovation Forum for the GSMA from 2007 to 2009, and sat on the board of GSMA Executive Management Committee for Smart Communications from 2006 to 2010.
