Technical Manager/Software Architect
MDI and Novare Technologies’ Technical Managers or Software Architects are professionals who lead and manage a cross-functional technology team that ensure complete, timely, and cost-effective delivery solutions and services to the company’s principals and customers. The Technical Managers plan and design appropriate technology solutions and services to satisfactorily address the technology needs of the customers. They push the envelope by deploying new and innovative means of getting the most out of our resources, processes, and technology. They work with a strong team that shapes the future of Mobile, Enterprise and Web Computing for leading brands across various industries both here and overseas.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Orchestrates and manages team of software engineers to design and maintain technology solutions for customers based on their specifications and requirements
  • Analyzes and documents processes and problems encountered during operations; Recommends and develops solutions to enhance efficiency.
  • Directs staff in issue handling, problem analyses, and reports preparations
  • Supervises staff in accordance to company policies and procedures
  • Represents department in coordinating with the Human Resources Department, supervisors, and managers, including upper management
  • Provides regular progress reports on team activities and projects
  • Plans and develops systems and procedures to improve the quality and efficiency of services and the department as a whole; Serves as the technical architect for projects and systems to be delivered.
  • Manages the operational and fiscal activities of the team to include staffing levels, and budget goals
  • Supervises scheduling of staff on work assignments, employee training, leaves and breaks, overtime, and backup for absent employees
  • Conducts interviews, hires new staff, and provides employee orientation
  • Conducts employee performance reviews and manages career development of all team members
  • Coaches staff in resolving complex operation problems/issues
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management from time to time

 

Job Competencies

  • Bachelors/Masters Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology, or equivalent experience preferred
  • Two (2) to three (3) years of supervisory or management experience
  • Two (2) to three (3) years of technical architect experience (high performance computing, scalable systems engineering)
  • At least five years in software development or technical consulting
  • Technical/ Functional Skills. Refers to the skills directly required for the competent performance of the job.
    • Software Engineering (Java)
    • Database Systems (Oracle, MS SQL, etc.)
    • Use appropriate UML
    • Knowledge of SS7, CIMD2 and other GSM protocols (optional)
    • Knowledge of the telco concepts and mobile applications development (optional)
  • Non-Technical/ Non-Functional Skills. Refers to the skills that may support the completion of duties and responsibilities.

Senior Software Engineer
Novare Technologies’ Software Engineers are technology professionals who design, develop, and maintain the next generation Enterprise, Web and Mobile technology and platforms. At Novare, Software Engineers are always able to analyze customer requirements, design creative solutions, and build ingenious systems to address all of our company’s customers’ technology needs.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and maintains application solutions and software for customers based on specifications and requirements
  • Integrates, tests, and debugs application solutions and software when deployed in development, test and production environments
  • Ensures complete delivery of all customer requirements and documentation
  • Manages and maintains resources and artifacts necessary for the completion of ones projects such as tools, source code, documentation, project and time tracking information and customer information
  • Tests and experiments with new tools and technologies that will help in designing and developing software for current and future requirements
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management from time to time
  • Occasionally performs training lectures and sessions on assigned software development and other technology topics.
  • Mentors junior members of the team on software development practices, and technology developments.

 

Job Competencies

  • Bachelors/Masters Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology, or equivalent experience preferred
  • Three to five years related work experience
  • Programming/Technical/Functional Skills. Necessary for writing programs efficiently; Must be able to deliver well-written and readable code; Must have the ability to ensure optimal application performance against documented requirements; Must be able to actively determine specifications and standards for application compliance.
    • Unix/Linux Operating Systems and/or MS Windows Operating System
    • Programming Language Experience in Java
    • Relational Database Management Systems – Oracle/MySQL/MS-SQL/PostgreSQL
    • Knowledge of UML design tool
    • Optional Enterprise Mobility Software Development Skills (Android, JavaME)
    • Optional Enterprise Web Software Development Skills (JavaEE)
    • Optional Data and IP Networking (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, SS7)
    • Optional Unix/Linux Shell Scripting
  • Non-Technical/ Non-Functional Skills. Refers to the skills that may support the completion of duties and responsibilities.
    • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills. Must be able to identify potential issues and problems; Must be able to analyze and logically breakdown these issues and problems; Must then be able to create hypotheses that is useful when troubleshooting and testing; Must finally be able to devise efficient solutions and approaches.
    • Project management Skills. Must be able to manage ones own workload as well as the workload of one’s team; Must ensure that appropriate planning, organizing and delegating is in place.
    • Product Knowledge Mastery. Must be able to facilitate and build end-user/client confidence in produced software and application solutions.
